Dr. Stuart Sheehan was born in 1960 in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Shortly after the death of his father, he placed his faith in Jesus Christ at age eight. He accepted his first ministry position while still a student at Furman University in 1979. Following his graduation in 1982, he went to the University of Texas at Austin, completing both masters and doctoral degrees. While in graduate school he met his future wife, Amy (Brantley) Sheehan, who was also a graduate student at Texas. His ministry in the local church spanned more than 30 years, serving churches in South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia and Texas. In 1988, he was introduced to World Hope Ministries International. Ten years later, he joined the Board of Directors. In 2008, WHMI established the World Hope Bible Institute and Dr. Sheehan became its first Director as a volunteer. The overwhelming need of pastors led him to answer the call to become WHBI’s first fulltime Director effective August 1, 2011. In October, 2011, the Executive Board of World Hope Ministries International elected Dr. Sheehan as President.
Dr. Sheehan has traveled extensively as a speaker, teacher, preacher, singer and worship leader.
