World Hope Ministries International was incorporated as a non-profit Christian ministry in 1975. After leading numerous international mission trips, the founders were burdened that the Great Commission meant more than providing for career missionaries. It also meant providing a way for anyone to experience what it means to go and make disciples of all nations. For over 40 years WHMI has helped people go and proclaim the message of the gospel, serving in Asia, South and Central America, Africa, and North America. However, proclaiming the gospel was still not enough. WHMI continued to explore how to be obedient to the Great Commission, making disciples, not just converts.

For the last 10 years WHMI has focused on developing sustainable relationships with indigenous people so that those who come to Christ are also discipled. These partnerships provide places for anyone, from new believer to seasoned pastor, to experience the Great Commission. Each is unique to the country and culture. Some partnerships are located in cities and some are in very remote areas. Other partnerships involve humanitarian work such as constructing schools or children’s homes, or include church planting strategies or prison ministries. Every partnership provides opportunities to call people to faith in Jesus Christ. Through these relationships we have seen the pressing need for pastor/leader training, and in 2008 WHMI established the World Hope Bible Institute.
